How to change your 2-factor authentication (2FA) device

Follow the steps in this guide if you have lost access to your 2FA device permanently or if you want to change the mobile number or device you use.

If you can’t access your device temporarily, read how to log in without your 2FA device.

Every user needs their own set of login credentials, as 2FA security is designed for individual user authentication.

To change the device used for 2FA:

  1. Log in to the Account management area (opens in a new tab) with your email address and password.
  2. Enter your verification code using your chosen method.
  3. Select 2-factor authentication.
  4. Select Remove.
  5. Enter your password and then your verification code from your chosen method.
  6. You’ve now turned off 2FA for your previous device. Set up your new device using our guide.

Change your device if you do not have access to it

  1. Log in to your product.
  2. Select Verify a different way instead.
  3. Select Use your recovery method.
    If you do not have your recovery method, contact our technical support team for more support.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code from your recovery method.
  5. Select Remove device and add a new one.
  6. Select Send 2-factor authentication email. This will send an email to allow you to set up your new device.
