Starting from 1 January 2025, the regulation on the modernisation of financial statements introduces various mandatory changes in the chart of accounts and financial reports of French businesses.
To comply with the changes, Sage Active helps you update your accounting data to the 2025 standard.
The date that these changes affect your business depends on the start date of your fiscal year for 2025.
Your fiscal year for 2025 can:
- Start on 1 January 2025 aligned with the calendar year.
- Start after 1 January 2025 offset from the calendar year.
You have some flexibility in implementing these changes, however, you need to make sure that you:
- Import the new chart of accounts for 2025 first.
- Configure your chart of accounts before recording journal entries at the start of your fiscal year for 2025.
- Balance and deactivate the necessary ledger accounts after you close your fiscal year for 2024.
