As part of the changes introduced in the regulation on the modernisation of financial statements, you need to make sure that you import the new fiscal year 2025 chart of accounts by the beginning of your fiscal year for 2025.
To help you in this process, Sage Active includes a feature for updating your chart of accounts to the 2025 standard. This feature helps import the new ledger accounts required for the fiscal year 2025 chart of accounts. Sage Active only imports new ledger accounts that are not already in your chart of accounts; existing ledger accounts are not duplicated.
You can only perform this import once.
Once imported, you cannot import the fiscal year 2025 chart of accounts again.

To update your chart of accounts:
- Access the Chart of accounts.
Settings > Accounting – Chart of accounts
- Open the Update your chart of accounts for FY25 window ().
- Specify the length of the ledger accounts to be imported.
- Import the ledger accounts.
- If your fiscal year for 2024 is closed and you have transferred the relevant balances to the new ledger accounts, you can continue and deactivate the ledger accounts not included in the fiscal year 2025 chart of accounts.
If you have not closed your fiscal year for 2024, close the Update your chart of accounts for FY25 window.
You must not use the imported ledger accounts for recording journal entries before the start of your fiscal year for 2025.
